monitors which cost them as much as half the price of complete computer
system, by making decisions solely on what the salesperson in the
store says about the computer monitors. There's a lot more to computer
monitors than just the size of the screen. Read on to find out what
to look for when choosing cheap computer monitors. This page is

A
computer monitor is like a high quality TV set. The difference is
that with a computer monitor you sit very close and try to read
out fine detail such as words and small graphics. This means that
a computer monitor must have very fine definition and an image that
is nice and stable on the screen so you do not get eye strain, because
your eyes are precious than the price of hundreds of monitors. You
will spend a great deal of time staring at a computer monitor so
it is important that you get one that suits your needs.
When
you are looking for cheap computer monitors you will be given different
specifications. These numbers can be confusing so, lets look at
what the specifications means.
1.
Resolution
This
is the number of pixels that are displayed at once on the screen
of the computer monitor, for example if you have a computer monitor
which has a resolution of 1024x768 then you can see about 1000x740
pixel graphic at once on the screen without scrolling here and there
or zooming out to make the details of the picture to loose.
This
is very important factor while buying computer monitors. If you
do some serious graphics designing then opt for computer monitor
having 17 inch screen and has a maximum resolution of 1600x1200
because your computer monitor will give the optimum performance
when it is set to the resolution something less than the printed
one. High resolutions are good when you see graphics because you
see much more picture in the same screen at once but when you see
at texts you may feel eye strain in much lesser time than you may
feel with the computer monitors having less resolution. This means
that if you are buying computer monitors with very high resolution,
you are just wasting your money because as soon as you feel that
eye strain you will put the resolution of the computer monitor back
to the resolution that is best to work with and all the money you
have spent in your computer monitor is gonna burn in hell!!
Here
I am giving the most preferred resolution for every size of the
computer monitors that are used today.
i. For 15 inch computer monitors
consider having a maximum resolution 1024x768 or a little more
ii.
For 17 inch computer monitors consider having a maximum resolution
1200x1024.
iii.
For 19 inch computer monitors consider having a maximum resolution
1600x1200.
Before
you ask, what about the 21 inch computer monitors? , let me first
clear you that 21 inch computer monitors have no practical use in
homes unless you use the computer system as home theater!
I would recommend you a 17 inch computer monitors with a resolution
of 1200x1024. If

2.
Frequency or Vertical Refresh Rate
This
is a very important specification. The speed that a computer monitor
draws an entire screen, called the "vertical refresh rate"
or "frequency," is measured in hertz (Hz). This means
the number of times the computer monitor draws the entire screen
in one second.
To
prevent eyestrain you want your computer monitor to be able to run
the current resolution at around 85Hz. This will make the image
stable. At lower refresh rates the screen will flicker, however
you may not be able notice it at first but you will notice the splitting
headache you get after about an hour of use at a low refresh rate.
The
vertical refresh rate decreases as the resolution of the computer
monitor increases. In the computer monitors' manual look for the
resolution that has 85 Hz next to it and try to set that resolution
in the computer monitor. This will be the optimum resolution for
the computer monitor at the best suited frequency. Setting the computer
monitor any higher will damage both your eyes and your monitor over
time.
3.
Computer Monitor Size and Dot Pitch
To
decide how much size of the computer monitor will suit you best
is easy. As a rule the bigger the computer monitor the larger the
viewable area is and the greater the resolution it offers over a
big area this means that you can see a large part of image or text
without making the text or picture too small to irritate the eyes.
For most peoples I would recommend a computer monitor size of 17
inch because they offer a great value for money. But if you want
something big you can buy as bigger as you can afford.
Dot pitch means the measure of the pixels which constitute the display
of the computer monitor. The lower dot pitch means the crisper image
you can see. It is measured in millimeters. I would prefer you to
buy any computer monitor whose dot pitch is lesser than 0.25 mm.
Mine has dot pitch of 0.28 mm and I am pretty much satisfied with
it.
Choosing
cheap computer monitor is always not easy if you want not to bother
much about the specifications then I must tell you to buy any 17
monitor with a resolution of 1200x1024 because as I have told you
that these computer monitors usually offers a better value for money.
